No Air. But Still Street

Dissappointed that I didn't get the shoes at Beatrix Ong last week, I made my way to Size? at Carnaby Street nearby. To check if they got the Nike Air Jordan Retro High that I wanted. If I can't be couture, now it's my chance for me to take to the street look again, coz I've been sooooo much absorbed in this "ankle boots, lace-up, designer shoes" life. Someone even tease me saying that I'm way too put-together with all the designer stuff. Ahaks? Don't know about that! (I hope I'm not, nggg...)

So, there I am in Size? - the sneaker haven where you can find practically most of the 'high-fashion' sneakers. Most are not available in local sneaker stores, some are limited edition. Me being in Size? is quite weird, coz I'm in my Boss leather boots + skinny jeans, looking much more couture dude rather than skater boy, wandering around in there like "lost in translation". Anyway, while checking things out from Adidas, Onitsuka Tiger, Fred Perry and bla, bla, bla... suddenly, voila! The Air Jordan Retro is there on the corner end, tucked neatly among great looking Nike's. I then took it to hold and feel the fabulosity of the design. The color is delish, it looks pretty slim, and the fact that it's leather make me drool... Suddenly, DAMN! The nubuck upper is not the one I can wear!? Yes, it's nubuck. But from pigskin leather. Errkkk... Damn you Nike. It's my strike 3 this time after bad experinces with the brand. And this one made it official: I can never trust Nike again. (Yet I'm still waiting for the Maharam range btw, ahaks!)

So. There goes dissappointed part II.

Not contempt with my bad luck, I wandered around again. Suddenly I went "ooh, that looks nice" after my eyes transfixed to the new Adidas Top-Ten Hi sneakers. Isn't it look like my Samba, I said to myself. I took it from the shelf, and OMG! It's not a typical Samba lookalike!? It's croc leather! (Ok, it's croc-print leather. I'm just exaggerating there. :D). So, there I went on to try my size and... the rest is history... :D

Oh, btw. While waiting for the Adidas Croc Top Ten, my eyes caught the other hi-top sneakers. Adidas Conductor in black. But it's not just that. The texture of checks, woven-leather lookalike look utterly devilicious! Very understated, yet delish. Ugghh... I can't leave the shop without trying this one, I said. So, there I am again trying the sneakers and it fits perfectly as if match made in (shoe) heaven again. The rest... all I can say is history too. :))

So, with two blue Originals in my hands; unlucky? Probably not after all. All I can say - No Air for me, but I'm still rocking the street look. (Now I'm feeling the Empire State of Mind vibes - These streets will make you brand new, Big lights will inspire you...)

Love the croc!!

Love the look!

Damier Graphite? Bottega? No, it's Adidas Conductor.
