In the previous winter 08, I went to Paperchase store at Tottenham Court Road. It's their flagship store I think, coz it's the biggest Paperchase that you can find in London. On the first floor, there's this in-store consession selling bags like briefcases and totes from Mandarin Duck, Knomo, and etc... etc. When I was browsing around the section, I am so drawn to this one bag - a brand which I dunno what it is - a very small and compact briefcase which I think just a tad bigger than my Fujitsu notebook case. But in a very much 'horizontal' version. What I like about it, apart from its compactness, is the textured leather it's made of which remind me of my Louis Vuitton Taiga bifold leather wallet. The construction is so solid too and it was very light, suit to bring into the boardroom should you wanna bring a couple of A4 documents and looking very sleek and chic. The price? About £130. That time I think it's quite pricey given the size of it, but when it went on sale and it was brought down £100 in summer sale last year, I was already too late coz the bag has already gone. Coz it's the one and only on display in the consession store. :(
I said to myself, if something like that comes in future I might consider to buy it. And voila... as if magic happens, Louis Vuitton came up with kinda similar version of the bag that I saw. They were the Vassili PM briefcases in Taiga leather, showcased during the Louis Vuitton SS2010 catwalk in Paris last year. It might be slightly bigger than the bag I wanted, yet this one is still compact. And fierce. Chic fierce, that is. And it's Louis Vuitton, so what's not to like!?
And I love the new colors they comes in especially in this Glacier soft grey and Polaire off-white. They look very understated yet uber-chic. The size is quite roomy too should you wanna fill those A4-sized documents and probably slip in your netbook inside. And with the detachable shoulder strap, you have the choice to sling it on your shoulder. Price? About £1300!
Hmmm... now I should've bought the bag that I saw at Paperchase. Always listen to your instict, Zamri! :)
