Tribal prints are always a massive trend when it comes to summer. If previous years the trends tends to look towards the eastern part of the GMT line, from Indian-influenced back in 2007 to the African prints in SS08 and 09, this year designers seem to be looking towards the western GMT instead. The Native American tribal prints which is famous for the geometric designs, like Aztec and Mayans. Gucci is the one that really fronting the look with some pieces that they showcased in last SS10 catwalk in Milan. I love how the prints give some accents to the sombre base colors it is paired with, which make it look chic rather than being too tacky and distracted the whole outfit.
If Gucci is way too much to spent and burn a big hole in your wallet, then this t-shirt from Penfield got that Native American influence too. The tee is given a Navajo tribal print block around the bottom, sprucing up the otherwise simple, plain black. I love that the color of the print is it not to overpowering, with just a combo of blue-black-white which is always masculine colors. What I think it looks good with? Dark-colored jeans. Simple. :)
