Object of Lust: Louis Vuitton Damier Infini White Laptop Case

I know I will be in big, big trouble whenever I put something under the 'I want' list. Yet alone if I put it under the 'object of lust' header. Big trouble, how? Coz somehow the 'nature' takes its own course on me - sometimes it turn out to be a reality. But isn't that a good thing? I guess... but it certainly not so good to my bank balance! Errkkss...

Whatever it is, this Louis Vuitton Damier Infini laptop case is an absolute drool-factor. When I saw Simon Nessman appeared on the runway holding it in his hand, I just went manic. Really love what I'm seeing. The material is leather, so that alone is one tempting tick on the box. It is white - a color that's so chic apart from black. And it's a laptop case - which is definitely one 'bag' that I always use all the time, making it so practical to be carried or clutched around with me all day.

The design is very different from other LV's laptop cases under their Damier and Monogramme collection, coz as if Marc Jacobs trying to inject his own brandname element into this one. It zipped open halfway on the top, just like the Marc Jacob's Stardust laptop case that I previously bought. [click]. Nevertheless, I think it look much awesome like this!

Price? I dunno. Let's hope it's within the price range of their other laptop cases (though I'm guessing it's slightly higher since the material is fully leather). Time to head to the LV maison then...

Proenza Schouler iPad Case

Apart from Mulberry Alexa, Proenza Schouler has one of the most definitive satchel for the ladies. It quite iconic in a way, that once you saw it you can pinpoint that the bag is Proenza's. Maybe because of its front flap design  that look kinda unique and quirkily appealing to the eyes that made you drawn to the bag instantly without a doubt.

And to continue the effort of the iconic bag, the label has released some iPad cases bearing resemblance to its satchel design. It does look nice, and I have no grudge that there'll be some blokes out there would also like to snatch 'em too from their girlfriends; especially when it can come across as mlutch (that is men's clutch, fyi) - and it seems to be quite huge for men's trend nowadays.

From the look, I can see that the PS' iPad cases have dual function, one part to safekeep your iPad in the zippered compartment; while the front section with the flap cover can serve as additional storage for other stuff like folded documents, bills, etc... Very practical indeed.

Yellow Fever

Yellow is by far my least favorite color in the color wheel. I dunno what's about it, but there's something about the color which I quite resent. I felt the hue is a bit 'pungent', too overpowering and very attention grabbing; which can came across a bit offensive or in my face kinda thing. Looking through my wardrobe, I can confirm I have no all-yellow clothes - except for some combination with other colors, like my stripes tee from Asos and the checks shirt from Topman. Other than that, nada. [click!]

It's funny that apart from yellow being associated with youth, vibrant, joy and happiness; it is one color that symbolizes wisdom and intellectual energy. Yellow produces a warming effect, arouses cheerfulness, stimulates mental activity, and generates muscle energy. And there's some opinion that you should add yellow in your life if you want;

• some clarity for decision-making;
• relief from 'burnout', panic, nervousness or exhaustion
• sharper memory and concentration skills, and
• protection from lethargy and depression during dull weather.

Huh, really? Still, to me I won't be having any clothes in 'true' all-yellow. Yet to inject a sense of happiness and joy, turning a bit mellow with yellow in the accessories department is no harm instead. It's all about being discreet with the color, that's the most important!

Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Stardust' Laptop Case

My first encounter with the Marc by Marc Jacobs laptop case is exactly last year when I stumbled upon it at their store at Mount Street in Mayfair during one weekend. Sitting snugly on the shelf at the menswear section, I thought it was such a fun laptop case ever coz everything on it is like a 'monogramme'. The jumbled up letters and symbols like hearts and stars, which made it look so funky looking. I picked it up to to have a feel and have to say quite drawn to its waxy rubbery feel of the neoprene material used. Fast forward twelve months later into 2011 - what seems to be just an encounter suddenly turned out to be an owner of it instead. Introducing, the new version of the laptop case by the label - codenamed Stardust, which came in many colors and sizes as compared to the one that I saw then. This one I have is in black, that suits up to 11-inch netbook like my Samsung N310.

The other difference between this one and the previous laptop case is the multisensory touch which seems to be missing in the new Stardust. If the previous (which I'm not mistaken is called Jumble) have that waxy rubbery as I previously mentioned, Stardust has a typical fabric feel since nylon (or maybe polyester) is used on the outer layer. Yet, the laptop cases still maintain the 'monogram' being hot-pressed throughout its body. It's quite hard to tell whether the letters tell something since they're being randomly arranged. The thing that's certain, only letters existed in 'Marc by Marc Jacobs' are the one available on it, alongside stars and hearts symbols.

This laptop case is greatly padded. And what's even better, inside it is lined with the faux-fur giving some oooh factor when you slide your hands inside. A great final touch too coz it'll further protect your netbook from harsh scratches.

To me, this laptop case is for those who's very young at heart... or for the kids and ladies, rather than the typical blokes as it looks quite girly. Since I have this one, I know who's gonna be getting this from me soon - any of my nieces who have a netbook, definitely!

Asos Envelop Croc Laptop Cases

As far as I could recalled, Fall/Winter season is all about the croc and alligator trend hitting the streets. As much as python and snakeskin made it huge for Spring/Summer - it's the ireegular scales of the croc that take the reign when it comes to accessorizing in the chiller environment. Whether you do it with the real thing or just the mock/faux versions, it doesn't matter coz the pattern is amazing nonetheless.

Latest at Asos are these laptop cases which looks very cool in its envelop flap top. It comes with a strap which you can slip your wrist into while you sling the stuff to the boardroom. This case is made of PU that's really soft to the touch and is padded inside to protect your notebook/netbook/tablet much better. The size? Quite reasonable coz it can even fit a typical A4-sized document, which is very handy should you wanna use it as your portfolio bag replacement instead.

Price? Just £20... With choices like cobalt blue, canary yellow and vermillion red, who can beat the great look with that price tag, right?

Camel Beauty @ Gucci FW'11

The color camel has spilled into Fall/Winter collection again, but this time it's seen on the accessories instead of just on the clothes. Seen at Gucci for FW11/12, some bags collection in camel looks utterly delicious in buttery soft leather. From the tote with the plait handles, to the portfolio and messenger bags carrying the same intrecciato features - camel is indeed a neutral tone that will make it huge for next season.

Another thing I realize is that Gucci keep on continuing their effort to downplay the 'too much logo' branding and opting for the mujirushi concept again. Times and times, any bags awashed with the interlocking double G logos or the one that bears a big 'Gucci' on the center have started to fade, and goes with a bit discreet branding detail like the signature diamante pattern or like these pieces with a very small logo on the bottom side. Too small that you do need to 'scrutinize' the bag, which eventually would lead you to that aha! moment, "oh my, this is Gucci!". Does Gucci finally started to grab the similar ethos like what Tomas Maier did for Bottega Veneta : no brand or logo is needed, instead the craftsmanship of the said item is the one that truly speak out that it is indeed from the fashion house? A brilliant move towards the less conspicuous world.

Btw, I love that camel portfolio. What a succulently tempting clutch...

A Reason to Clutch

One accessory that can complete the look is the clutch. Whether it's a laptop case, a wristlet or even a typical portfolio bag; clutch has swarmed into the male counterpart ever since. I love a clutch, coz somehow it creates a comfort factor whenever I went out walking from one point to another. Either going to class, or to a meeting or even to the library - by having things to hold on my hand instead of just berlenggang with none, I feel safer and minimize that awkward feeling.

Previously, my Gucci laptop case is my faithful companion, whereas right now even my iPad case can even considered as my own 'clutch', though it doesn't really fit that bill. Whatever it is, at the recent Fashion Week in Milan and Paris, some are seen with the clutch in hand. Various style, various purposes and various designer labels are aplenty to keep them holding on to something!

It's a New Lap at Prada

Could this new portfolio bags (or laptop cases, if you like) with eyelets and studded stone upped your style level and make you a daredevil who wears Prada? Whatever it is, those lappies are definitely something new to talk about since they're the fiercest lappies that you may carry into your boardroom. If last SS10, everyone's gagging about the saffiano fori portfolio bag from Prada - including me who even called Prada store at New Bond Street asking if they're in stock since it's slashed more than half price during summer sale! - next 2012 I think this is gonna be a massive hotseller again: the saffiano studded and eyelets.

But, if the OTT portfolio is not your cup of tea, then there's always the two-tonal saffiano leather laptop cases in pastels. Suit the mood for next Spring/Summer which is much easy breezy.

Now, gotta save some money for that midnight blue and black one! :)

Fashion Week Style: It's a Lap!

You think Fashion Weeks has already ended after London made its curtain call last week? Well, not exactly coz the fashion packs has now gonna redo the thing all over for another cycle when it restarted in Milan, even before London finished. If last January it's all about Milano Uomo and Pitti Uomo, now the tide turns for the womenswear instead, with Gucci has showcased their Fall/Winter 2011 collection last Wednesday. Next stop is Paris... though many have doubts whether Dior gonna make its presence after Galliano's arrest a couple of days ago due to the you-know-what incident. But somehow, what's fashion without its drama too? (I think I might do Amy Winehouse song: They wanna make me go to Dior, I said.. Galliano...no..no.. ahaks!).

Anyway, lets move our attention to something which is equally interesting - the Fashion Weeks style. Previously we've seen tweed making a huge fav among the fashionistos when attending the catwalk shows, from tweed jackets and blazers up to the waistcoats and ties as well. This time, see what they're bringing along with them.

For some fashion packs who think carrying a backpack or totes with them is a big chore (and a major 'workout'), clutching a portfolio folder and laptop cases is another good choice. You not only can store the gadgets and some documents inside, the great thing is it's much more mobile and not too bulky. Chuck things in, zip it (or tab it), clutch it and you're ready to go. And of course, you won't block other people's seats or passageways too when you're sitting to view the show coz they're basically gonna be put on your lap. Easy, right? And a safer bet...

So, if you have the word 'fashionisto' stamped on your forehead, would you be seen in a normal laptop cases? Not unless they're a designer ones. Or at least something quirky cool...
