Spotted: Grandad Summer Shirts @ Zara

What's a summer without the grandad shirts, right? They're the most comfy to be worn during the hot sunny days, apart from the vest and a tee. The best grandad shirts are the one where the fabric is very light and airy - nice to be worn during lounging around by the beach, or taking a stroll around at the park without having the feeling of drenching in too much sweat. I like the one where the buttons finished off up to the mid-section, kinda the one that you can find on tunic or kaftans. If the drop of the length goes all the way to the thighs, then you can rock the Versace SS10 look coz most of the tunic that they featured on the catwalks are taken the inspiration from the Arabian countries. :)

When I last visited Zara in the previous weeks I saw there's a lot of grandad summer shirts in store. This time around I can say most of them are better than previous Summer '09 collection, from the design they did to the fabrics they used. And they comes in various color choices too though they're more to blues, greys and neutrals. Unlike last summer where it's more to whites. Mentioning the fabrics, I love that they're all lightweight which is great for hot climate you'll be in. And the fit is slimfitting, so it accentuates your body even better.

I picked one of them in grey, with a slightly open top. What I like about it is the fabric - though it's a lightweight cotton, the pleated or ruched it is made making it much more interesting. Not just a plain grandad tee, more to what you can find in Burberry SS09 collection. The fit is awesome. So as the price (though it's much expensive here compared to if you buy it in Europe - about £11 pricier, yikes!!). And it looks equally good both in jeans or in chinos (or linen trousers). I like to wear it with cropped pants, much more summery! =)
