Comes summertime, then you've gotta make way for the summer scarves again. Off with the chunky wool scarves wrapping your neckline in those cold seasons, now it's time to strap with the lightweight neckwear. There's some selection of summer scarves in the previous issue of Shortlist from the budget-conscious men to the one who don't mind to spend a big dosh on the designer one. I love the Hermes scarf with the 'H' all over it. Very neutral and can go well with almost anything. To add some color, the one by Nicole Farhi is great too especially if I wanna go for a green theme. As for the length, I can see most of them still on the 'long' side - while the 'in' trend nowadays is more to shorter scarves - a cross between a neckerchief and a long, skinny scarves.
So, what's the trend to tie the summer scarves these days? I love the one shown at Hermes Spring/Summer 2010 catwalk - kinda tie 'em up in a knot, instead of to leave it loose or 'open' on both ends. That's why the shorter scarves is betterto be worn so that the length once you tie 'em up will end just above the mid-section. Unlike in my previous photo, which goes all the day down below the hip - which is more to Burberry SS09. :)
