Waistcoat is one of the easiest way to change a bland top appears more stylish. Wear it with a tee, you gotta casual chic look (or maybe bohemian too). Wear it with a suit, you'll appear much more suave and dapper, plus you'll create a great three piece. But selecting waistcoat must be right, otherwise you'll be mistaken for being a waiter instead (it's ok if you're one, LOL!)
Dolce & Gabban has showcased some great trend of waistcoats in their Autumn/Winter 09/10 catwalk. From slightly shimmer to matt look, stripe to plain, wool to tweed (and maybe jersey too?). And their next trend seems to be tucking in the scarves underneath the waistcoat. Hmm.. look interesting and I may do it next autumn too. :D
D&G's version might be too pricey, I think I'll go with H&M or Topman instead with their cool slimfit waistcoat range. As usual, a waistcoat length must lie above the hip.. or u'll end up making it look like a cardi instead!
