One of my forever favorite iconic department store - SELFRIDGES - has celebrated their 100th birthday this year. Wow what a long time they've existed. 'Open To The World Since 1909'; that's what's I read on the main door. And to celebrate their centenary, they had a month long celebration in London store last May (not sure whether their other consessions had too..hmm). With the Centenary Exhibition at the Lower Ground (still on, till August) which I accidentally torn off the drawer knob (oppss..!!), to the fashion shows every Saturday, Bingo Friday and Centenary window displays, the celebration really went out with a bang. And they even had the 'Selfridgettes' - the so-called mascot of women dressed in art-deco asymmetric dress ala Grecian-meet-Roman goddess. Cool.
And the best part is they also had some limited edition items to commemorate the celebration. In non other - Yellow - the Selfridges iconic color. Range from yellow Pantone mug, to Union Jack quilted clutch bag by McQueen, Giles Deacon dress, Converse All Star trainers, Lacoste polo shirt and many more. And I managed to snap that Limited Edition Coca Cola bottles wrapped in yellow. Even Selfridges shopping bags also got some limited edition designed by the like of Giles Deacon, Vivienne Westwood and Stella McCartney.
Talking about yellow, it seems the color even becoming a choice too in this season's wardrobe. I love some of the yeelow collection at Topman like the cardi and jumper. And my favorite would has to be the tassel scarved. So delish...
