*Supposed to rhyme with Britney's Gimme More chorus - Gimme, gimme more. :)
I looked back at my previous entries and can't believe that I wrote about it five months ago. Time really flies huh? With months of anticipation, the agony of would-I-should-I-could-I get 'em thoughts and all the unbounded antsyness counting days, finally the day has come! It's 14th November - Jimmy Choo for H&M has landed!!!
I have to say, last Saturday I am brave. Very, very brave indeed. Yes, braving the gutsy wind in the chill autumn morning (or should I say early morning?), braving the blustery showers that hit (not once, but three times), and braving the fact that I have to stand waiting for more than 2 and a half hours with other 400+ fellow shoppers in front of H&M Oxford Circus - all in the name of Jimmy Choo. Yes, the name made famous for the shoe worn by SJP in the SATC series.
But why does the JC-4-H&M made a huge fuss? Even the news report said this is like no other H&M's collaborations before. Never people queue that long at all H&M branches in London. I never queue for Cavalli nor Comme des Garcons nor Matthew Williamson's before. But Jimmy Choo? Well, what not to queue - especially the girls. Who gonna buy the £500-Choo's if you can get a similar one with less than £100! And to me personally, I love the brand. Period. And getting pieces in menswear department - I think I'm making history too coz JC never had a line up for us blokes. And I think the company is testing waters here with their H&M's debut. Coz who knows in future, the real Jimmy Choo (the brand, not the man silly) will release their own men's collection themselves!
So, my verdict? After months of anticipation, the long hours of queue and braving the weather - it's all worth it. Simple as that. The pixs say it all. I got everything I came for. The price is a great bargain without compromising on the quality. Superb purchase. Well, it may not be other people cup of tea, but one amn's junk is another man's treasure isn't it? And I love the box and the carrier bags in ultramarine blue! (some says it purple, oh well...whatever)
This is the first thing I grab once making my way to the men's department. The grey suede zip-up boots. Though I'm not a big fan of anything suede due to it's high maintenance, but this one is Jimmy Choo, man. And I have to say too, at first I'm slightly put off coz it doesn't exactly look like in the pix. Yet the worn-out looks kinda cool. Plus the fit is amazing. Well, all the shoes fit superb anyway. It's quite funny when i tried it, some guy moaning why there's none of his size - 48. What are you? Giant?
It's the little details...
The black zip-up boots. This is what classic is all about - simple and understated. The design reminds me of Prada. The almond toe is a great addition to my other pointed-toe boots.
This one is a major surprise. I'm kinda anxious if it's gonna look like what H&M did before, but thankfully it doesn't. This grey suede tote bag is a must-buy! No hanky-panky craftsmanship here. The zipper, the lock, the suede used - all high quality. The price. A great steal!
The wallets. Love the textured leather. Kinda remind me of LV Taiga that I used to have. This zippered wallet is great replacement for my long wallet. It has 2 cards and coin slot. The smell of the leather... mmm.. invigorating!!
Other pieces in the collection include the suits, shirts, tees, jeans, cashmere jumpers and leather jacket. I have to bypass those collection coz I have too much in my wardrobe already. Plus, the boots and the bags are even more tempting to me. :)
