The team at Topman will show their designs again for the FW2010 collection this Wednesday in the Man on Wednesday slot during London Fashion Week. It's the usuals, like their staple Topman Design, to the invited collaboration like Carolyn Massey, Christopher Shannon and James Long. What am i hoping? Something much edgier, but absolute wearable and non-ridicules, please. Otherwise it'll go straight to the 'SALE' section! Nggg....
Anyway, my quick snoop this time brought me to try some of the new stuff on the hangers, which include the new Topman Design range. Like this biker, asymmetric jacket in distressed 'denim'. Well, it's not denim actually - just a jersey but given the denim look. I like the simplicity of the jacket, though not quite stoked with the color though. The fit? Just okay. Oh, there's a leather biker jacket too, but it's not that great design. I was hoping the leather one got this jersey jacket design instead.
Now the Topman Design range. It varies from the long-sleeved tee, to shirts and jackets, as well as some pants. I took something which I thought qould be interesting and less ridiculous. Like this extra deep V-neck tee in turquoise (the color in this pix doesn't look the same as in real one, btw). I do't normally like ribbed tee, coz it tend to accentuate the skinny-ness of me. But this one doesn't. It's just right. I love the fit and the length of it. Though i dislike anything way below the butt, but this one seem to look okay. And the color - very SS10!
Another SS10 color is this uber sheer top. Very sheer, that it's practically see-through. So, if you wanna show off those toned pecs in the summer without being topless, get this one! But i hate it when it make this 'ballooning' effect at the cuff, as if I got huge 'spare tyre' on me. Erkk!
And it's also available in black. And very, very see through... Great if you wanna do that 'made you look!' kinda impression. Lol!
How do you turn a bland white tee into something 'edgy'? Put a zipper on the sleeves then! Like this one. Utterly yikes!! to me, coz the zipper doesn't do anything. Except on the first part near the end where it can be used to 'untighten' the cuff. Other than that, it just added extra weight to the tee. And it's quite oversized, so, that's to me is a total no, no.
Oh, Topman also got new carrot jeans. I like the idea actually, coz carrot jean tend to give a better fit than a skinny jeans coz the upper part is usually bigger. But one thing is wrong about these jeans is that, the dropped crotch making anyone wearing it look 'bulge-less'. MC Hammer? Harem? That's probably is. Whassup with that? To me denim is all about the bulge thing. Without that bulding part - why wear denim? Go and wear chinos then. As far as these carrot jeans is concerned, it make me look as if my balls has gone way down due to gravity! Eeeekk!! Not cool...
