I rarely went to the cinemas to watch movie. Or, to put it straight I don't go to the cinemas at all. Coz I can't stand sitting quitely on those seat, and wasting almost 2 hours of my time doing nothing except staring at the stupid screen. The most I can be patient in that kind of situation is only for half an hour. More than that, as they said in the ITV show 'I'm a celebrity...get me out of here..!!' So I'd rather get a DVD, watch it at home where I can pause and stop and continue whenever I like. And that's what I did if I got spare time. :)
Btw. For those moviegoers, or better still, fashion moviegoers you won't want to miss this film-slash-documentry. After Valentino allowing the film producers entering his world of haute couture, now the Kaiser behind Fendi and Chanel - Karl Lagerfeld has followed suit in the Lagerfeld Confidential. A film that bring you to the life of the man himself - not just an uber fashion maestro, but also the photographer as well.
At the beginning of the movie, audience are brought into Mr. Lagerfeld's bedroom - housing a mock four-poster bed (two post + tall headboard) and, piles and piles of books. Oh man, I love to have a bedroom like that or better yet in a library. But right now all I can do is to sleep in a room full of shoe boxes. Yikes! Anyway, viewers are then entertained with Karl's choices of his daily wear, from tons of jewellery to his collar cuffs and the rails of clothes.
You are then brought to his daily life and some interviews. You know Karl is a great photographer and has done it for years. He even shot the latest Chanel ad campaign featuring Lily Allen. And in the movie, you can see his work photographing celebs like Nicole Kidman, and some models like Carmen Kass and Brad Kroenig - his once-upon-a-time favorite muse (which is now switched to Baptiste Giabiconi, of course).
Other than that you can see his life travelling here and there on the private jet, staying in some uber chic hotels and country mansion, in some fashion shows like Chanel and his own Lagerfeld brand and his work at Chanel HQ. Pretty interesting to have a taste what life as a Lagerfeld look like. It also show he's a normal human being like you and me (except for some interesting choice of ensemble :D)
Oh, btw. The movie is in French. Only when he speak with Brad, which is the one time I understand plain English. Other than that - it's all French. Excuse moi, je ne comprends pas. I don't speak French, that's why I let the funky music do the talking... (isn't that Girl's Aloud song? Lol!)
Anyway, these are some of the screen caps...
