So. What's happening this weekend? If last weekend I managed to be with other 2 million shoppers roaming around Oxford St and Regent St during that Shop West End VIP Day, this weekend somehow saw ginormous amount of crowd all around London as well. With Christmas gonna be less than two weeks now, it's not a surprise to find those people shopping like mad in most department stores. And some store even did Winter Sale as early as last Thursday. Wow... what a scene.
Anyway, what are my finds this time?
H&M. They got some new things on the shelves after a little pause in the past couple of weeks. Like this black shirt. In a glance it looks like polka dots scattering all over it. But look closer and you can see they are actually tiny little stars! Nice isn't it? Very subtle and not too tacky. The last time I saw highstreet did starry shirt is @ New Look. Yet this one, I can say H&M did much better. The fabric and the fit are great.
Who can say no to florals? Especially in this season when H&M really did lots of dandy style. Pair it with some frills, voila... you got this shirt. I really love the color - the combo of brownish and dark red. The pattern look quite baroquey which is cool. Love the fit too.
Denim shirt. Something that I always like coz they are the epitome of masculinity and roughness (whatever that means..lol!). This one is not your typical denim shirt, coz it got some faded, washed treat to it. If you're thinking of copying D&G Spring/Summer 10, then this one is a must have.
I know I already got tons of cardigans by now. But this one is quite different coz it's a bit textured. Or blocked, if you like. If you remember, I tried the same design before in pink (spring 2009) and mustard (late summer 2009). And thank you H&M for having it in black. I love it! Simple, but never looking bland.
Oh, what else? Aha... surprise, surprise. They already stocked some new things which I supposed gonna be for Spring/Summer 10. Like this suede jacket that I previously wrote in this blog.
It got frills, tassles or whatever you wanna call it. Does it somehow scream 'yeehaa!!' cowboy look? I think so. And raking in success on the previous Jimmy Choo in some suedes collection, this one doesn't dissappoint. The material (real leather) is amazing. Though the price is not that expensive, the quality is a non-compromise. Very well made. The cut however is not what I'm liking for. I just wish it's a slimfit so that it fits me nicely. :(
Other new jacket is this faux fur with leopard print lining underneath. Very luscious fabric, felt very snuggly like mink. But the fit...sorry. It's a bit loose to me. (Yikes!)
Another new are the grey tee and contrast-hem blazer like in the ad campaign. Maybe next time I'm gonna try those stuff.
River Island. I just love how River Island upped their game this season by having some new edgy stuff on the racks. Like this one-buttoned wool jacket. Last time when i saw it is during the SHORTLIST-River Island Reader's event that I attended. Some guy - whom I think is the Style Editor of the mag - even recommended me to buy it. Damn, I don't. Otherwise I could've just save 20% off in my wallet. Oh well...there's always Winter Sale, right? Anyway, this one got the pockets which kinda remind me of what Issey Miyake or some Japanese designers used to do. Very edgy. And the fit? Just mwah... I love it! Just look at the pix. Very hot, huh? Lol...
Last but not least is this T-shirt. Why do I tried it? It got the gradual colors which is always cool (River Island call it burnout). And the deep-V neck which is super hot. Plus the fit is super flattering. I also love the raw edges on the neck and sleeve - so deconstructed look. Overall, great design. No wonder it's quite pricey! Nggg...
Hmm..what else happened this weekend? Apart from Stacie being voted off on Saturday, Joe became the winner of this year's X-Factor and Leona singing in the show (damn, her voice is so crazily beautiful), my weekend is just working to finish off my work. :( I wish the Christmas break would've be sooner.... (or better yet, the Harrods and Selfridges' Winter Sale :D)
