New to the collection this time, I think Topman LTD has gone a bit high fashion. Well, at least judging from the ad campaign they put on. It doesn't look like the usual street or daily wear the highstreet brand has. And lots of monochrome too which is very chic. My personal pick would definitely be the white db jacket. Looks cool with the modern take on the cut. But whatever it is, gotta try 'em on in store to have a real feel, coz look can sometimes be deceiving. And that's what I did.
So, my verdict?
They got loads of items on the rails, and I've pick some that I think worth trying. Like this oversized cardigan in white horizontal stripes. The edge here lies on the bottom hem where you can see it's kinda look like butler's jacket or waistcoat thing. The fit? Well, it dosn't serve well for skinny people like moi coz it'll accentuate the famine chic look (which is not good...errk!!). The material though is quite light.
The wool t-shirt. I always love anything with cuffed short sleeves coz it is more neat compared to the Buzzlightyear, flippy flappy American Apparel lookalike tee which tend to make me look like a seal. The fit here is great, but I am not digging the pocket thingy. Why? It tend to flip out as if making your moobs just fall out (no, i don't have moobs fyi. Lol!). Yet, minus the pocket, I think it'll be better.
White shirt with black trim on the collar. Simple design with concealed buttons. Love the fit, but not the fabric. It's quite thin. The price doesn't translate into the fabric quality which I think quite similar to Primark's one. Yikes!
Harrington jacket. The different take here is instead of having a usual buttoned pocket, the designer replaced it with a zippered version. More neat and practical. Fit is okay, but that's it. Not pretty excited with overall thing to be honest.
Cotton crew neck jumper. The material is similar to the Matthew Williamson's jumper that I got from H&M last Spring 09. Fit is quite ok, but quite loose at the bottom which I think spoil the look a bit. But love the subdued block color.
The double-breasted jacket. I stay true to what I said, and I do like the jacket. It's not the typical db jacket that you can find at highstreet coz of it's lower neckline and slimmer on the wait. This jacket comes in two versions - one in plain white which look like An Officer and A Gentleman look, while the other is in fine, light blue stripes which resembles seersucker. I think both are great for spring/summer wear. :)
High fashion or not, y o u d e c i d e . . . . . :D
