It's 1st December. It's World AIDS Day. A day where people in any part of the world are conjuring on the awareness and the fight against the deadly disease. This time around I am not gonna be left behind by participating in what London has to offer. For me, anything for the sake of charity I'd say - come on, bring it on!
For those who are not really aware about World AIDS Day, one of the highly acclaimed participation in the shopping/fashion world is the Product (RED) - where people can purchase some items from the likes of Emporio Armani, GAP, Starbucks, Dell and Solange-Azagury Partridge - and part of the profit goes to the charity in fighting AIDS.
So, what's happening in London. GAP, as part of the product (RED) partner has set up a pop-up shop at their store in Oxford Street (nearest Tube: Bond St). Most (RED) product from GAP t-shirts designed by Stella McCartney, Armani watches, Bugaboo cart and Converse Red shoes, to some books and even SAP ring (that I used to blog in here too) are on sale. The (RED) store is gonna be till 17th December, so if some of you wish to buy something and do your bit for the charity, better hurry up!
I bought a Starbucks tumbler, just to get myself a free cotton (RED) tote bag. Pretty cool. (U can also buy the tumbler from any Starbucks cafes).
And oh, talking about Starbucks, any coffee purchased today 5p of it will go to Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. It may sound small to you, but it will eventually adds up. As Tesco used to say - every little helps.
Apart from the pop-up store, London is also being painted red. Well, not really painted. Rather, the capital is illuminated with red. Like the fountains in Trafalgar Square - it's turning garnet (or crimson if you like). Even London Eye got a 'red' treatment. Love to see that London really care too. :)
And to support the awareness, I'm wearing my GAP 1969 (RED) jeans, that I bought last time during Vogue's Fashion Night Out. Awesome fit, great denim fabric and love the fact that I also give some to the charity with the purchase.
So, I say: Buy (RED), save lives. :)
